Producer TV and New Media: Sara Diamond The Media and Visual Arts department at The Banff Centre for the Arts provides a wide range of creative and professional development opportunities in film and television. Throughout the year, the department's Banff New Media Institute offers a variety of programs through its residencies, work studies, co-productions, workshops, exhibitions and special projects. In 1999, the Institute will run specialized television workshops that will address writing for series TV and directing for women. Other workshops will focus on new media issues from education and design, to software development and project financing. The Banff Centre for the Arts is also a place for collaboration. The Television and New Media Co-Production Program welcomes artists from around the world and provides them with access to facilities, technical support and financial assistance. The Work Study Program allows participants an opportunity to expand and upgrade their skills in the areas of television production and post-production, visual art support, computer applications support and curatorial practice.
