The four-year Film and Video program is designed for students who wish to Integrate academic and production work. Students begin working with 16mm film in their first year and are encouraged to develop their interests in directing, editing, screenwriting, film sound, camera, music and all aspects of dramatic, experimental and documentary production. The Possibilities of the medium are expanded each year in historical and theoretical courses that explore critical and contemporary issues In sound and moving image production. Interdisciplinary work is encouraged. Students may undertake incidental or substantial studies in dance, music, theatre, visual art and technical theatre. The schoo! is equipped with 16mm and video production facilities, including non-linear editing and digital sound suites. The program leads to a BFA in Film Production, or applicants may apply for an extended minor.
