Visual and Media Arts Project Grants: Purpose: To provide grants to support visual and media arts organizations, groups or collectives for projects that complement their programming and involve visual or media artists.
Eligibility: This program is open to Ontariobased not-for-profit visual arts organizations and groups undertaking projects involving the presentation and distribution of art, educational or professional development activities, or documentation on dissemination of art. Organizations receiving annual support funding are not eligible. Deadlines: January 25, June 15, 2002
Programs for Individuals
Artists’ Film and Video
Purpose: This production program provides project grants to assist independent artists using film and video as a form of creative expression.
Eligibility: This program is open to Ontariobased professional media artists wishing to realize a film or video project. Artists working with film and video installation may also apply.
Deadlines: April 15, 2002. Fall deadline may change. Contact OAC for more information.
First Projects: Film and Video
Purpose: Provides project grants to first-time and emerging film and video artists undertaking their first project in either film or video. Artists working with film and video installation may also apply.
Eligibility: This program is open to Ontariobased artists interested in producing their first film or video project. Applicants from other artistic disciplines wishing to incorporate film or video into their work may also apply.
Deadline: December 15, 2002
Note: Photographers can now apply to Visual Arts Individual programs. Contact the Visual Arts Officer for details.

Corporate Affairs provides the strategic direction and structure that enables the agency to achieve its objectives. Corporate Affairs is responsible for research, communications and marketing, financial services, information systems and human resources. Corporate Affairs markets and promotes Ontario's capabilities at key international markets to ensure awareness of Ontario's advantages as a production centre. Corporate Affairs manages the agency's relationship with our core clients: the Canadian Film Centre and the Toronto International Film Festival Group, which includes the Toronto Film Festival and Cinematheque Ontario, as well as the Canadian Feature Film Project with the CFC.

Initiatives (SDM)
e The Al Waxman Calling Card programs provide Ontario producers and directors poised to make a first long-form drama or documentary production with an opportunity to create a short “calling card” film with which to prove their readiness to make long-form projects.
e Market Mentorships help emerging producers gain an understanding of the international marketplace and make contacts through direct involvement at key industry events or structured meetings in particular territories, with the guidance of experienced industry mentors.
e Partnerships in Training assists industry organizations developing innovative training that targets the gaps in professional development for emerging producers.
e The Producer Internship Program builds emerging producers’ business skills through a combination of 20-week work placements and intensive workshops.
° The Executive Forum in New Media and Peer to Leader are a series of workshops devoted to the professional development of new media executives. Unique and timely offerings address industry issues relevant to both emerging and experienced executives.
Location Promotion & Services (LPS) LPS promotes the advantages of Ontario as a filming location and production centre to domestic and foreign producers. The OMDC Location Library is a valuable resource with photo files of more than 10,000 Ontario shooting locations. LPS provides a complete range of services to producers: location scouting, information on services and facilities, introductions to unions, guilds and personnel, and liaison with other government agencies.
Tax Credits (TC)
¢ The Ontario Film and Television Tax Credit (OFTTC) is a refundable tax credit available to eligible Ontario-based Canadian
corporations of 2 % of qualified Ontario labour expenditures for eligible film and television productions.
The Ontario Computer Animation and Special Effects (OCASE) Tax Credit is a refundable tax credit to Ontario-based Canadian and foreign-controlled corporations of 20% qualifying Ontario labour expenditures for digital animation and digital visual effects created in Ontario for film or television productions.
e The Ontario Production Services Tax Credit (OPSTC) is a refundable tax credit to eligible Ontario-based Canadian and foreign-controlled corporations of 11% qualified Ontario labour expenditures for eligible film and television productions.
© The Ontario Interactive Digital Media Tax Credit (OIDMTC) is a refundable tax credit to eligible Ontario-based Canadian and foreign-controlled corporations of 20% eligible Ontario expenditures for interactive digital media productions created in Ontario.
e The Ontario Sound Recording Tax Credit (OSRTC) is a refundable tax credit to eligible Ontario-based Canadian corporations of 20% of qualifying production and marketing expenditures for eligible sound recordings performed by an emerging Canadian artist or group.
e The Ontario Book Publishing Tax Credit (OBPTC) is a refundable tax credit to eligible Ontario-based Canadian corporations of 30% of eligible expenditures for eligible literary works created in Ontario.
