SODEC assists Quebec producers and distributors through subsidies, loans and equity investments. Eligible projects include feature films, short and medium-length dramatic films, documentaries, made-for-TV movies and mini-series. SODEC also invests in the Quebec part of co-productions and at least 80 percent of its funding is allocated to projects produced in French.
The Quebec Film and Production Tax Credit, a fiscal measure that amounts to 33 1/3% of eligible labour expenditures incurred by Quebec production corporations in the production of a certified film or television program, as well as the Quebec Production Services Tax Credit, which amounts to 11% of eligible labour expenditures incurred by an eligible corporation for the shooting of a production in Quebec.
Finally, SODEC works in cooperation with local industry organizations to assess and improve the local infrastructure. The Office also ensures the Province of Quebec has a presence at major world film events, visibility in international film publications, and is instrumental in developing contacts with industry decision-makers around the world. Services are provided free of charge to foreign producers and are designed to address the specific needs of filmmakers and
film and television producers interested in
filming in Quebec. These services include:

Director, Programs & Services: Susanne Bell Since 1989, SaskFilm has provided support, financial assistance and equity financing to the Saskatchewan film and video industries and to media through the administration of the SaskTel New Media Fund. SaskFilm administers the Saskatchewan Film & Video Employment Tax Credit. The tax credit provides eligible production companies filming in Saskatchewan with a 35% rebate, up to 50% of the total production costs, based on the value of eligible salaries paid to Saskatchewan residents. SaskFilm programs include Development Loans / Equity Investments / Special Program Investments / Market Travel Assistance / SaskTel New Media Fund.
SaskFilm’s Location Office assists companies seeking production opportunities and locations within the province.
