Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC), an agency of the Ministry of Culture, provides a wide range of programs and services to stimulate the growth of the province's film and television, book and magazine publishing, music and interactive digital media industries. OMDC's mandate is to build innovation, capacity and competitiveness in Ontario by working with the cultural media industries to maximize opportunities. Ontario's cultural industries contribute more than $5.3 billion to the economy and generate more than 40,000 highly skilled jobs.
Chief Executive Office: The Chief Executive Officer oversees OMDC's activities and supports and works with the agency's Board of Directors to fulfill the agency’s mandate.
Business Affairs and Research: Oversees the strategic and business planning activities of OMDC, agency operations (including

human resources), and undertakes industry research and data collection. The group coordinates operational support to the Toronto International Film Festival Group and the Canadian Film Centre.
Industry Development: Assists cultural entrepreneurs in creating and marketing new products, developing and accessing markets and growing their businesses. Assistance includes a variety of programs and business development initiatives such as markets, festivals and events.
Film Commission: Attracts, promotes and facilitates film and television production and post-production in Ontario, providing scouting assistance, location facilitation and trouble shooting during shooting.

Tax Credits: Administers processes and assesses eligibility for the Ontario Government's book publishing, film, television, digital media and sound recording tax credit programs: Ontario Book Publishing Tax Credit, Ontario Computer Animation and Special Effects Tax Credit, Ontario Film and Television Tax Credit, Ontario Production Services Tax Credit, Ontario Interactive Digital Media Tax Credit and the Ontario Sound Recording Tax Credit. In conjunction with the Ministry of Finance, the group evaluates tax credit applications according to government legislation and regulations. Information and referral services are provided for applicants and potential applicants as are tax credit information sessions, The group also promotes the program to national and
international producers.
