racial and culturally diverse film, video and new media products. ReelWorld Film Festival, held annually in April, truly embodies the sense of Multiculturalism that Canada aims for by promoting appreciation and not segregation among diverse communities. It provides unique experiences to film going audiences and stimulates interaction among industry professionals, bringing emerging artists from all facets of the industry to network, share and support each other. ReelWorld Foundation organizes a year-round slate of activities: educational and training programs, screenings, roundtable discussions, awards and other events. An important component of the Foundation is our work with marginalized youth and the development of programming focused on youth leadership, media literacy and creative expression through film and video.

The festival has two parts — a school program and a family program — with some programming common to both. The school portion is aimed at Grades 1 and up, the public portion at ages 3 to 12. Both sections include film-related workshops and ancillary activities, presented by some of Toronto's leading craftspeople.
The festival screens family-oriented live action features, feature-length animation, and both animated and live-action shorts. Curatorial preference is given to films that have been neither broadcast nor theatrically released in Canada before. Sprockets takes place in April of each year.
