Director: Claire Dion Board of Directors Peter Mortimer (President), Denise Robert, Robert Roy (Vice-President), Bernard Montigny, Paul Gratton, Heather McGillivray, Roman Melnyk The Independent Production Fund was established as a private independent foundation to assist independent production companies in financing the production of Canadian television drama series for private sector broadcasters, with a capital endowment now totalling $34 million. The annual revenues generated by this capital and return on equity constitute the funds at the Board's disposal each year. This amounts to approximately $3 million annually. The Board of Directors is composed of seven members representing the industry. The Fund provides equity investments to qualified independent production companies with a broadcast licence from a Canadian private broadcaster. The focus is on (1) the production of dramatic series for prime time telecast, and (2) the production of dramatic series for children. A portion of the fund is used for grants to non-profit organizations and associations for professional development and training activities which encourage dramatic television series development in Canada. Deadlines February 15, April 15, October 1. Decisions are made by the Board approximately six weeks after these dates.
