SODEC assists Quebec screenwriters, producers and distributors through subsidies, loans and equity investments. Eligible projects include feature and short films in fiction and animation and documentaries (one-of and series). SODEC also invests in the Quebec part of co-productions and at least 80 percent of its funding is allocated to projects produced in French.
The Quebec Film and Production Tax Credit,
a fiscal measure that amounts to 29.17% of
eligible labour expenditures incurred by
Quebec production corporations in the
production of a certified film or television
program, as well as the Quebec Production
Services Tax Credit, which amounts to 11%
of eligible labour expenditures incurred by an
eligible corporation for the shooting of a
production in Quebec.
SODEC ensures that Québec is well
represented at major international film
festivals and markets, where it establishes contacts and business alliances with industry decision makers.
Finally, the Québec Film and TV Office
(QFTVO), a department of SODEC, works
closely with international producers to ensure
they benefit from all Québec has to offer. The

SaskFilm administers the new Canada/Saskatchewan Soundstage Facility and the Saskatchewan Film and Video Employment Tax Credit. The new state of the art soundstage facility features four studios of varying sizes with a total of 34,538 sq.ft. of studio space on par with the bast facilities in Canada and North America.
The Saskatchewan Film and Video Employment Tax Credit will rebate 35% of the total wages of all Saskatchewan and deemed labour. As an additional incentive, SaskFilm also offers a Rural Bonus up to 5% of Saskatchewan expenditures if the project takes place 40kms or more from Regina or Saskatoon.
