A film which should arouse considerable interest, when it is trade shown is ‘t Between Love and Power," a picture which has been made. in. Russia since the accession to power of the Soviet Government. This film, which js being handled by the M. and F. Film Agency, who are comparatively newcomers to the trade, is the first of an ambitious program which this firm intend putting out. The founder of this company is Mr. Frank Wheatcroft, one of the earliest members of the trade, who, with his unrivalled knowledge of exhibitors’ needs, may ‘be expected to cuter for them in a manner whieh should be eminently appreciated and mutually satisfactory. ~
Pictures from ‘‘ Down Under.’*
We are advised by the Star Pictures Corporation that the first of a series of Australian films directed by Franklyn Barrett will shortly be shown to the trade. The picture in question is entitled ‘‘ The Bush Girl,’’ which, as the name signifies, is a story of life ‘“ down under.” We are given to understand that Mr. Brade's company are controlling the entire output of Franklyn Barrett productions for the next three years. A minimum of twelve pictures is scheduled, but this number will probably. be increased. Australia has not yet given us many pictures, but exhibitors will remember that those we have had have been, upon the whole, exceptionally good. Further information and fuller details will therefore be awaited with considerable interost.
