CLASSE 1. PECHE 1 184 G. — LA PECHE AUX EPONGES. Les plongeurs sur les cotes de Grece et de Syrie. La peche a Cuba au moyen des fourches. Les eponges sont sechees puis battues et coupees. On les trie ensuite pour les expedier. 1208 G. LA PECHE EN RIVIERE. Les nombreuses especes de poissons qui peuplent nos cours d'eau offrent a ralimentation des ressources qui sont loin d'etre negligeables. On emploie pour capturer ces poissons des engins tres divers : peche a la ligne flottante, peche a l'epervier, a l'echiquier, peche a la nasse rigide ou pliante. 1233 G. — LA PECHE AUX HOMARDS. Les homards, abondants sur les cotes de l'Atlantique, font l'objet d'un commerce actif. On les peche au moyen de pieges en forme de nasses appelees « casiers ». La confection des casiers en osier. Le depart pour les lieux de peche. Les casiers sont amorces et immerges sur les fonds rocheux. Apres quelques heures lis sont releves et les homards captures sont recueillis. Le retour apres la peche. AL
