O'SHEA announced that RKO has allocated $22,500,000 as the total budget for eleven pictures to be produced in the first six months of 1956. A second group of top quality pictures will get a similar allocation in the near future, according to the RKO president. O'Shea and board chairman Thomas O'Neil have also declared that RKO will become "more aggressive" in its bidding for top story properties, and the purchase of "Cash McCall" is the first step in that direction. Walter Wanger was signed to make six pictures for RKO in the next three years. He will also produce "Underworld, USA" for Humphrey Bogart.
