Yoost Moves To Intervene In Para. Reorganization

Special Master Joyce stated further that in any case Yoost's assertions "may warrant direction of tbe trustees to submit additional facts in support of their petition."
Set Hearing to Dissolve Paramount Subsidiary
Hearing is set for April 8 before Special Master Joyce on application of the Paramount trustees to dissolve the Elwood Amusement Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary, upon assignment to Paramount by Elwood of the mortgage it holds on the Miami Beach Community Theater Bldg., Miami, and two mortgage notes due and payable aggregating $73,180 with interest, in consideration of credit for this amount against the debt Elwood owes Paramount. Elwood is also to pay off all other obligations. The petition further provides tbat Paramount Enterprises, a subsidiary of Famous Theaters, will consent to the expunging of provable claims against Paramount totaling $56,000 and pay Paramount $33,180 in consideration of the cancellation of the Miami Beach Community Theater Bldg. mortgage and mortgage notes, which Paramount Enterprises was obligated to assume.

Three new subjects will go into production this week. Today at the Biograph studios in the Bronx shooting will begin on two one-reel pictures in the Treasure Chest and Song Hit Story series.
Al Christie will put another tworeel Young Romance comedy into work at the Astoria studios tomorrow. Sylvia Froos will be the star, and featured with her again will be Warren Hull. The story is by William Watson and Art Jarrett.
Frank Moser and Paul Terry are now preparing the story outlines for the last subjects in the season's series of Paul Terry-Toon cartoons.
Duals War in Lincoln
Lincoln, Neb. — The double feature battle is on. The Orpheum, J. H. Cooper vaude-picture house, will offer two features on the picture half of the week starting April 1. This gives Cooper two houses against the L. L. Dent pair, Varsity and Kiva.
Coming and Goin
IRVING ASHER, head of production for Warners in England, at present conferring with ir.zk L. Warner on the coast, returns eastward this week with a new contract. His wife, LAURA LA PLANTE, remains on the coast for a fortnight's visit with friends.
DOROTHY FIELDS, song writer, arrives in New York this week from the coast.
DAVID LEVY, attorney, returns in a few days from a month's vacation in Florida.

THE MARX BROTHERS, before starting to film their forthcoming M-G-M vehicle, will test out their comedy material through the medium of a 50-minute act booked to play Fanchon Cr Marco houses in Salt Lake City. Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and perhaps elsewhere.
Am. Legion Opposes Soviet Films
Boston — Complete banning of Soviet films, two of which have beer shown in the past month at the Majestic, is demanded by the American Legion here.
Grover Whalen to Present Awards at the M. P. Club
Grover Whalen will officiate in presenting the Quigley awards for the most meritorious film campaign at the first annual Showmanship Luncheon Forum tomorrow at the Motion Picture Club. Other honored guests will include Paul Hollister of Macy's, Baron Collier, Jr., Bruce Barton and a list of invited industry notables including Adolph Zukor, H. M. Warner, David Bernstein, John D. Clark, Felix F. Feist, Ned Depinet, E. W. Hammons, George Schaefer, Harry D. Buckley, Jules Levy, Nate Spingold, Louis Nizer, Jack Alicoate and others.
Postpone Hearing
On Para. Contracts
Hearing on some 200 executory contracts to be assumed by reorganized Paramount-Publix was postponed Saturday until today owing to the absence of Special Master John E. Joyce, who was attending a funeral.
Bruce Gallup Dined
Employees of Donahue & Coe tendered a dinner to Bruce Gallup on Friday night at Sardi's, the event being tied in with his resignation to join Columbia as director of publicity and advertising. Affair was a surprise from the standpoint of the guest of honor, who was presented with a desk set as well as plenty of "gag" gifts. Ed Churchill acted as toastmaster.
