Arthur Harris Dead
New Orleans — Arthur Harris, 39, one-time film salesman for Fox and Educational and old-timer of film row, died at his home here this week. He had been ill for three years.

Court Refuses to Advance Cleve. Bank Night Trial
Cleveland — The Court of Appeals yesterday denied a motion to advance fhe hearing on the bank night case and appointed Saul Danaceau referee to hear the facts, and take testimony in tbe case. Last week Common Pleas Judge Frederick Walth°rs declared bank night not unfair competition. Jerome Friedlander attorney for Meyer Fiscber, Fountain Theater, complainant in the case against M. B. Horwitz, Haltnorth Theater, anticipates the case will be advanced for hearing before court adiourment. Defendant attorneys, William Minshall and Ben Schwartz, opine the hearing will be nostponed until fall.

Sam Smith, managing director of British Lion, who arrives in New York today on the Normandie, is bringing over four features with nurpose of arranging American distribution for them. Among them are "Tn Town Tonight" and "Ten Minute Alibi."
Remodeling Activities
Take Spurt in Iowa
Des Moines — Extensive remodeling of theaters througbout tbe state is under way. The King at Albia is being remodeled, redecorated and sound being installed, tbe work to be completed for tbe house's reopening July 15. Hubbard, la., is to have a theater, tbe building formerly occupied by tbe "Hubbard Review" being remodeled for a 300seat bouse.
The Castle building at Manchester is being made into a 500-seat tbeater, the Castle. Work is soon to be completed, according to Wayne Dutton, manager.
June 26 has been set as tbe opening of the rebuilt Niles theater at Anamosa.
Joe E. Brown East for Radio Date
Joe E. Brown, Warner star, leaves Hollywood for New York today for an appearance on the Lux Theater of the Air program June 30. The program, which will be broadcast over an NBC co^st to coast hookup at 2:30 P. M., will consist of a onehour version of "Elmer tbe Great."

Metropolis Gets Italian Operetta
Metropolis Pictures Corp. has acquired American rights to the Italian screen operetta, "L'Eredita Dello Zio . . . Buonanima" ("The Rich Uncle"), starring Angelo Musco, Italian comedian. This film just finished a run of four months in Rome and is to be shown in other capitals of Europe. It will have its American premiere in a Broadway theater in the next few weeks.
Toronto Wants Adult Theater
Toronto — There is a movement here for the establishment of a special theater, seating perhaps only a few hundred, where films not appealing to the mass of theatergoers but of particular artistic or literary merit could be shown.
Billy Milton in B.I.P. Films
Billy Milton has been signed by B. I. P. to work in four pictures to be made in England. Milton, who is now in London, has appeared in various Broadway shows and at the El Morocco.
