Co. here announces that, following many months of designing and experimentation, the company has created a new model of this type of chair which is asserted to be a radical departure from predecessors and is known as the No. 920. It has heavily upholstered seat and back which greatly reduce fatigue, according to its designers, even though the occupant is seated for many hours. The back is pitched right to help achieve this aim, and a practical footrest contributes new comfort. Upholstering is obtainable in any of Royal's 28 different leatherette colors. Seat is 15% inches deep and 16 inches wide. Chair also has a revolving screw adjustment which permits height to be raised from 27 inches to 33 inches. Royal Metal has also issued its new 1939 catalog containing important contributions to the chromium furniture field. Ampro Named Sales Agent For Syncro-Sound Camera Chicago — The Ampro Corp., manufacturer of 16 mm. silent and sound motion picture projectors, has just completed arrangements as the exclusive U. S. sales agent (east of the Rocky Mountains) for the Syncro-Sound 16 mm. Professional Sound-on-Film Camera as manufactured by Gumbiner Syncro-Sound, Inc., of Los Angeles. New J rune Manual Chicago — The Trane Co. has published a 325-page air conditioning manual, which is available to the trade. The book cost the company $40,000 and was three years in preparation, according to R. N. Trane, president. Whiting Filters Will Be Installed in Roxy Roxy Theater will shortly install Whiting Filters, the new device for creating instantaneous and startling color changes in stage settings and costumes, it is announced by Matthew A. Rosenthal, president of the Whiting Filterlite Corp. Although the opening date of the first show in conjunction with which the new device will be used has not been announced, preparations are now in progress for producing the stage presentation which will employ all the color changing possibilities of the invention. New Paneling Veneer Chicago — J. H. Smith, specialist in wood products, has developed a new veneer for paneling. The new line is said to have pliability, insulation and sound deadening qualities. G E REDUCES PRICES OF EIGHT H-E LAMPS Cleveland — Substantial reductions in the list prices of the eight highefficiency lamps designed for still and motion picture projection, effective Dec. 1, are announced here by General Electric's Nela Park Incandescent Lamp Dept. Increased public demand for these lamps, it is stated, has made it possible to effect manufacturing economies which are being shared with the consumer. New price scale effects the following lamps: 300-watt T-10 clear, and 500-watt T-10 clear Medium Prefocus; 500-watt T-20 clear Medium and Medium Prefocus; the 750watt T-12 clear Medium Prefocus; and the 1,000-watt T-20 Mogul, Mogul Prefocus, and Medium Prefocus. New Booth Thermometer Detroit — McArthur Theater Equipment Co. is distributing a new fireproof steel thermometer for the projection booth, to the theater trade in Michigan. Curtistrip Introduced Chicago — Curtis Lighting Co. is offering the trade a new type of fluorescent lamp under the trade name, Curtistrip.
