Give a listen: "The Return of the Frog" and "The Demon Barber of Fleet Street." Slaughter (Real McCoy) It doesn't matter which one is mentioned first. The second will scare out the first. And either is ^mm capable of scaring anyone sitting in the tirst row to tne last Tow in the balcony. Tod Slaughter (the real monicker) is just a tip-off. Slaughter is the demon barber and is to English screen fans what Karloff and Lugosi are to America. That, alone, makes nobody immune from at least one dozen man-sized shutters. Slaughter portrays Sweeney ioaa. He operates the Fleet street barber shop. As a profitable sideline he "polishes off" his wealthy customers who have, just arrived in town from the docks. His next door neighbor, Mrs. Lovntt (Stella Rho), runs a pie shop, helps the demon to dispose of his victims and for her trouble shares in his illgotten gains. All is well until one of his victims escape the trap. The barber jthen has some close shaves throughout, up to and including the climax. Based on Wallace Novel "The Return of the Frog" i: adapted from an Edgar Wallace novel, "The Indian Rubber Ifan. Gordon Harker, Una QS^onnor. Rene Ray and Hartf^y Power, favorites in London bm practically unknown here, ^re the leading players.
