The 1942 Film Year Book "Compendium of Valuable Information is Absolute Must For the Trade" W. Harley Rudkin jn the April 6th issue of one of the most influential of the New England daily newspapers — The Springfield Daily News says: "That valuable compendium of motion picture information, the Film Daily Year Book for 1942, showed up on my desk today to bring this department up to date on facts and figures, dates, names, pictures, producers and credits of all kinds pertinent to the film industry. "For the theater editor, or for anyone who has any extensive dealing with the motion picture world, this annual compilation is an absolute must. The department that gets along without one is only limping. It is the encyclopedia of the personnel of the film industry, and its thousand or so pages are more stuffed with information than a hibernating bear with provender." Let me give you an idea of what you are doing without if you don't have this book: — "Eighteen thousand, six hundred and eighteen film titles; all the serials since 1920; film stocks, foreign markets, developments in technicolor, "Oscars" back as far as 1927, 10 best pictures of former years, as far back as 1922, comprehensive feature release credits, short subjects, names of books and plays made into motion pictures under titles different from the original. "Authors' credits, screen play writers, players' credits (that's the one that gets the most attention from the theater editors with bad memories). Then the year book goes into the company personnel, production personnel, exchanges and product, arbitration systems and tribunals, the complete texts of arbitration and appeals rules, Sunday closings.
