Century Plea for Empire Writ Argued Wednesday Application of Century Circuit for an injunction to halt any steps to dissolve Empire State Motion Picture Operators Union wil be heard in Kings County Supreme Court on Wednesday, a postponement having been granted on Friday by Justice Earnest Hammer. The hearing was to have been held today. At the same time the court will hear a motion by Empire to transfer the case to New York County Supreme Court. Empire sought unsuccessfully last week to get a stay against further prosecution of the case by Century. The restraining order was granted to Century in a move to prevent a consolidation of Empire with the IATSE's Local 306. Arkansas Exhibs. to Open Business Session Today Little Rock, Ark. — First business session of the semi-annual convention of the ITO of Arkansas will be held today at the Hotel Marion here, with President Claude C. Mundo presiding. Yesterday's program consisted mainly of social functions including a barbecue at a nearby lake. Among the speakers at today's sessions will be H. M. Richey of Loew's, Inc., and T. W. Sharp, retired owner of several theaters and a charter member of the Arkansas association.
