Fay Buys in Graphic (Special to THE FILM DAILY) Dallas — The Journal states that Frank Fay, of Southwestern Films, has purchased a 49% in the Graphic Film Corp., and that he has become treasurer of the company. With the deal, Fay secures distribution of a number of features in this territory. He has also secured "Shadows of Conscience." At the offices of Graphic Film, it was stated that Ivan Abramson had struck a deal with Fay while on the road, but that the office was unacquainted with the details. Abramson is now in Seattle and is expected in New York in about .two weeks. L. L. Kahn Dead (Special to THE FILM DAILY) San Francisco — L. L. Kahn, of Kahn and Greenfield, died here last week. No More Suits (Continued from Page 1) The letter in question was circulated last fall, and in it the attorney-general stated his attention had been brought to the fact that distributors were not complying with the law; that if they did not take steps to do so, he would in turn take necessary measures to prevent the carrying on of their business in Nebraska. It was pointed out that before that time, efforts were never made in the states where deposit laws exist to enforce the statutes and that although they were on the statute books, the matter ended there. The consensus of legal opinion in distributing circles may be said to be that the deposit question is ended. The fact that three Federal judges concurred in their decision on the invalidity of the Nebraska law is held to be highly significant and a point that advocates of the deposit laws cannot afford to overlook, if they should decide to press enforcements in other states. Loew Sells Regorson Interests (Special to THE FILM DAILY) Rochester — It is understood a group of Rochester men have purchased the controlling interest in the Regorson Corp., held until now by Marcus Loew.
