Seek Censor Relief
(Continued from Page 1) the office because of her refusal to permit the assistants to approve them. As a result of the complaints, it is understood, the Governor has ordered her to put an end to the practice of going about the state, and instead to devote all her time to censoring.
Governor Davis as yet has made no statement to indicate what he intends to do, but film men hint that he is fully advised of their position, and expects to step into the breach very soon. It is reported that the governor is considering the removal of Mrs. Snow as chief censor, although it is possible that he will decide against this move and instead appoint an advisory board whose authority will supersede Mrs. Snow's and which will hear appeals from the chief censors rulings on disputed films.
It is learned that Attorney-General Price has been in consultation with Governor Davis regarding the censorship difficulties, and that Mrs. Snow, at a conference with Price and Education Director Riegel, was told that she "has been skating on thin ice."
