Regal to Take Over Specialty Film

Montreal — Specialty Film Imports. Ltd., is to be amalgamated with Regal Films, Ltd., of Toronto. The latter has submitted a contract agreement to take over Specialty, it is said, the deal involving about $200,000. It is also intimated that other exchanges in Canada are to be absorbed by Regal.
L. E. Ouimet, president of Specialty, declared that the transfer would be completed within a few days. He believed a name other than Regal would be used for the combined companies. Ouimet organized Laval Photoplays, Ltd., with headfquarters here recently, with a capitalization of $300,000 to produce.
Regal now releases Metro, Realart, Robertson-Cole and Wid Gunning pictures in Canada as well as some scattered product and short reels. Related to Regal is the Famous Players Canadian Corp. N. L. Nathanson of Toronto, is the managing director of both Famous Players and Regal Films,
Maddux Joins Crescent

Favorite Buys "Barnes" (Special to THE FILM DAILY) Detroit — Favorite Films have purchased "Burn 'Em Up Barnes." The company expects to have 10 features a year for distribution in Michigan.

"Cap'n Kidd," Eddie Polo's new serial has been sold to Sam Grand, Federated of Boston for New England, and to Ben Amsterdam, Masterpiece of Philadelphia for Southern New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania. Burton Kin-^ is directing the serial.

Bay Minette, Ala. — Brooks Lawrence, superintendent of the AntiSaloon League in Alabama, and associates have organized the Southern Church Film Producing Corp.
This company has capital of $5,000 and was formed to manufacture and distribute. Incorporators are Brooks Lawrence, Mrs. Nora E. Lawrence, V. E. Winter and M. Kitchem.
"Torchy's Shoes" is the new Torchy comedy now in production at Burr's Glendale Studio.
Carpentier in Blackton Film
