OFFICE FOR RENT Light, «iry suite, three rooms and reception room Inquire Room No. 902 1650 BROADWAY N. Y. CITY f Financial FILM ISSUES PASS THROUGH HECTIC WEEK Cognizance ,is being taken of money conditions with the Federal Reserve forcing the issue. Hence, another hectic week for the market. While money was to be had at 6 and 6J^, film stocks surged to new high levels for the year. When money advanced to 7 with concern expressed for an increase over this figure it 'vas most natural that stocks would precipitate sharply. Several theories have been advanced for the sudden decline but none could gain so much favor for the break as the tightening of money. What, with the Federal Reserve withdrawing millions from the market, daily, could be given as a better excuse for the downward move. \\arner, as usual, led the uphill march closely followed by Paramount and Fox "A." The pace was slow and steady and the trio proved strongly supported by their favorite followers. Pathe came out of its dormancy Wednesday to stir no little comment. About 11:45 both issues made a sudden splurge which brought them to new top levels for the year, but the move was shortlived. The reaction was as forceful as the sudden rise and in exactly fifteen minutes the preferred lost 10 points while the common dropped three. Other film shares were carried along by Pathe's actions and ended that day with appreciable losses. Money again was the question oi yesterday's trading and hence all arnusement stocks sold under pressure, most of them marking losses tor the day. There was no let up in the reverse movement which resulted in Paramount dropping 354;' Fox "A" lost Zyi; Pathe "A" decreased 2; Warner "A" dropped 2; Loew lost %, and Loew preferred diminished ^. W.
