Italian Film Head Quits Causing Flurry in Rome

Committee Working to Repeal Pa. "Blue" Law
Pittsburgh — Owen Wister, writer, and William Eest, banker, are members of a committee appointed to poll the Pennsylvania legislature on "blue" laws. The National Ass'n opposed to "Blue" Laws, is working to secure repeal of the old law. Repeal was urged at a recent meeting of the state bar association.
Fox Plane at Springfield
The Fox Movietone Air News Unit No. 1, on its good will tour of the country, moved yesterday from Hartford, Conn., its first stop, to Springfield, Mass. An additional city, Portland, Me., has been added to the route. The plane will go from Portland to Boston on Saturdav.
Del Rio at Cleveland Cleveland — Dolores Del Rio is appearing in person this week at the Allen theater while her picture, "Evangeline" is the screen attraction. She is making four appearances daily. A complete program for the week has been made out, including a picnic for orphans, a luncheon arranged by the Women's Press Club, and broadcasting over local station WTAM.
200 Expected at Golf Meet
Minneapolis — More than 200 exhibitors are expected to turn out for the first annual film golf tournament to be held near here July 26.

Mohammedan Gets Writ to Operate House on Sunday
Williamson, W. Va. — Contending that as a Mohammedan he observes the Sabbath on Friday, and so is exempt from the Sunday closing law, O. Hindy, Delbarton exhibitor, is operating the house Sunday under a temporary injunction. The district attorney here plans action in the matter after returning from his vacation. Hindy's theater is closed on Friday.
Capt. Robertson at A.M.P.A.
Capt. Jack Robertson, who made "Alaskan Adventures" for Pathe, has just returned from the wilds with a production called "Trail Mates" which again features the dog "Wrong Start." Robertson will be the guest at Thursday's meeting of the A.M.P.A.
New Schwartz House Opening
A. H. Schwartz on Friday will open the Sheepshead theater, Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. It will be one of the Century circuit houses.
"Andy" Smith Returns
A. W. Smith, Jr., eastern and Canadian sales manager for First National, has returned to his desk at the home office after a vacation spent at Big Moose, in the Adirondacks.
