place we personally prefer to have it geographically as far away from our work desk as possible.
A Smart Bit
Quite the smartest thing of the week, cinematographically speaking is not a picture at all but a delightful bit of stage craftsmanship by the master maestro in the presentation of a tabloid version of the symphonic suite "Scheherezade." Never have we seen the great stage of the Roxy more colorful. A tuneful and delectable bit, indeed, from the workshop of Roxy himself.
Lustig Heads Publicity for 25 New York Houses
Dave Lustig has been appointed director of publicity and advertising for the Manhattan Playhouses, Inc., circuit of Greater New York theaters. There will be 25 theaters under Lustig's typewriter. Jack Steinman has been appointed general booker and Charles Steiner supervisor of theaters.
Luncheon for Chevalier Maurice Chevalier and a party of seven French journalists will be guests of honor at a luncheon at the Taramount Long Island studio today by Jesse L. Lasky, vice president in charge of production. Also scheduled to attend are Ruth Chatterton and Clive Brook, at present appearing in "The Laughing Lady."
Smart Transferred to Charlotte
