Paramount came back for over 10 points while both Warner stocks closed with gains of 7i/4 and 9x/2. The stock exchange, J which opened at noon yesterday, will be dosed today and tomorrow. UNION THEATERS SECURE Sydney — Union Theaters Ltd. have secured from the Australian government a five year contract to have exclusive charge of all broadcasting programs, it is reported here. Programs will be broadcasted from Melbourne by the Australian Broadcasting Co., Ltd., controlled by Union Theaters supplying the National Broadcasting Service. FitzPatrick Filming Lives of Liszt, Brahms, Bizet Three of his Famous Music Masters series are being recorded by James A. FitzPatrick at the RCA Gramercy studios in New York. They are "Franz Liszt," "Johannes Brahms" and "Georges Bizet." The musical accompaniment consists of selections from the works of the composers rendered by the Victor Concert Ensemble under the direction of Nathaniel Shilkret. All other FitzPatrick features are being produced with a musical background, including the Traveltalk, American Holiday and Movie Horoscope series. Vogue Fashion Films is Completed at Fox Studios First of the Vogue Fashion films, sponsored by Vogue magazine and produced by Mary Warner at the Fox Movietone studios, New York, has been completed and now is being released. The picture, according to the company, is being offered to first run theaters only. The film will be backed by a national advertising campaign. The company plans 26 releases a year. Gibbs With Tiffany Charlotte, N. C— Dewey Gibbs has been appointed branch manager of the local Tiffany exchange succeeding Ed L. McShane, who resigned. Moeller at Screen Convention Detroit — A. J. The Kirksville operated on Sundays during the summer months but discontinued them due to the church element. Brown Talks at AM PA Luncheon James Wright Brown, editor of "Editor and Publishers" as well as president of the New York Advertising Club, in his brief talk before the AMPA yesterday outlined the various committees active in affairs of the N. Plan 4,600-Seat House Here A combined hotel and office building to house a 4,600-seat theater is planned on the site occupied by the Globe and Central Theaters, New York. Lee and J. J.
