Boston — Arthur H. Lockwood, president of Connecticut MPTO, is recuperating from an emergency nephrotomy at Beth Israel Hospital.
Chicago— Attorneys for RKO filed suit for $25,000 damages against Southern Theater Properties, Inc., for breach of film contract. Defendants are the leasees of the Oriental Theater, controlled by Jones, Linick & Schaefer. Suit covers five RKO features, six Information Please shorts and 20 issues of Pathe News.
At the same time, David Kahane, attorney, filed suit in Cook County Circuit Court against Southern Theater Properties for payment due the Chicago Orpheum Co.
Unplayed RKO film in a deal whereby pictures went to the Oriental upon the closing of the Palace for the Summer formed the basis for the actions.

Montreal — Famous Players Canadian Corp. has advised the Montreal Stock Exchange that the option granted N. L. Nathanson under date of April 15, 1936, to purchase 11,000 shares at $16 a share during the month of July, 1940, has been extended and may now be exercised in whole or in part at anytime up to and including Jan. 31, 1941.
Rites Held for Mother Of J. M. and L. W. Schine
Buffalo — Funeral services were held here yesterday for Mrs. Bertha Gordon Schine, mother of J. Meyer and Louis W. Schine, operators of the Schine circuit, with headquarters at Gloversville. Mrs. Schine died here Friday.
'Twill Be the Jayhawker
Lawrence, Kan. — The Jayhawker will be the name of the Dickinson Theater here when it reopens early in September after extensive remodeling and redecorating. The Commonwealth Theaters Corp. is the present owner.
