Texas and Delaware Set Pace by Duplicating Free Movie Day in All Film Theaters
Hundreds of theaters this week will stage "repeat engagements" of Free Movie Day and War Bond Premieres, working up to the last minute of the 'Fighting Fifth" WaxLoan Campaign on Thursday to bring the drive to a conclusion in a blaze of glory.
Committees have set plans for important state-wide or local events aimed to add additional millions of
dollars to the drive total, with emphasis on the sale of "E" Bonds.
What is expected to develop the largest day's sale of "E" Bonds in the state of Texas will be held on Thursday, when Texas theaters will again stage "Free Movie Day." A second "Free Movie Day" is also set for the entire state of Delaware on Wednesday. These states held the (Continued on Page 13)

Excess Profits Taxes Hold Down Current Profits as Companies Build Surpluses
On the basis of excess profits taxes now being paid by film companies, in most cases amounting to more than the entire net profit of the best pre-war years, a drop of 20 to 25 per cent or even more in business would still enable the majority of firms to show the same net profit as at present, a Film Daily analysis indicates.

Pay, Not Strikers, "Sit-Down" In Cuba
Havana (By Air Mail) — Strike of Smith Circuit employes has entered its seventh week here in an orderly, peaceful, and unique manner. It is the most peculiar strike in Cuba's annals. The strikers are working but they refuse to collect their wages until Ernesto P. Smith pays them the $60 per month minimum salary fixed by a Presidential decree.
