Chicago — First telecast of a fire took place here when Arch Brolley, chief engineer of WBKB tele station, yesterday morning turned the equipment to a window of the station and televised a fire across the street in B & K property at 10 West Lake St.

Riskin in an Ex-Officio Govt. Post in Hollywood
Robert Riskin, recently resigned chief of the Overseas Motion Picture Bureau of the OWI, has accepted an ex-officio post with the Governmental agency in Hollywood and will serve as special consultant.
Riskin, writer-producer, is now working on his first independent screen production since leaving his Government post. The film will be based on an original entitled "The Magic City."
"Joe Palooka" Rights Acquired by Monogram
West Coast Bureau of THE FILM DAILY Hollywood — Film rights to Ham Fisher's comic strip, "Joe Palooka," have been acquired by Monogram, Trem Carr, executive director, announced. Negotiations between McNaught Syndicate and Monogram were handled by Hal E. Chester who will produce a series of comedies based on the character, said to have a reader circulation of 40,000,000, some 5,000,000 ahead of its nearest comic-strip rival.

The following members were elected as an executive committee to work with Nelson: George Bagnall, Roy Disney, Sol Lesser, Samuel Goldwyn, Daniel T. O'Shea, Edward Small and Leo Spitz.
