TV BAN STANDS AS AFM-NAJORS RENEW Expiring Pact Renewed by Petrillo for Another Year With Reservation Contract May be Reopened Agreement of the American Federation of Musicians to extend for another year the terms of its pact with the major companies evidently means that music in films made by those companies will continue to be barred from television, it was pointed out at the week-end. Existing contract, which expires tomorrow, so provides. New pact stipulates no change in wages, hours, working conditions. Provision is made for right by AFM to reopen contract upon 60 days notice. Scale for studio musicians is still $13.30 an hour, with guarantee of 520 hours work a year. Studios that are party to the extended pact are Metro, Paramount, 20th-Fox, RKO, Republic, Warners, U-I and Columbia. AFM Prexy James C.
