JMarrelou^ acting! SAYS PETE HARRISON 'j^ ''One of the most powerful dramds produced for a long time. There are times when it is hard for the spectator to suppress his emotions. • * • • * The scenes where the heroine upbraids her husband and tells him that she would rather kill her child than allow it to come into this world \s one of fhe most powerful seen in pictures since moving pictures have come into being. There are other powerfully dramatic situations all the way through. Helen Twelvetrees, as the heroine, does marvelous acting. I doubt if there is another screen actress that would have made the part more realistic. Fred Scott, too, does good work; he has a good voice and in his part as a minstrel he does good singing. Everyone in the cost, in fact, does good work. The story is by Edmund Goulding; it was directed skillfully by Fred Newmeyer. The tone quality is excellent, the lines all being clear." HARRISON'S REPORTS "The Grand Parade in this case is going to be a parade of customers to the box offices for this picture is a natural, made-to-order-hit."
