A. Lightman, president of the M.P.T.O. A., has acquired Universal's one-third interest in three houses in Jonesboro, Ark., thus obtaining complete control of the theaters. The houses are: Strand, Liberty and Palace. Lightman, now in New York working on plans for the annual M. P.T.O.A. convention, has purchased from Publix the Saenger at Hope, Ark., giving him complete control of the situation.
