Detroit — A deal has been closed by the Duo-Fone Corp. and the Lyric Film Exchange for the installation of sound equipment in numerous theaters in the Philippine Islands and whereby the film exchange will have exclusive rights to Duo-Fone products for the islands. More than 90 per cent of the houses in the Philippines a.re expected to be wired shortly, states O. S. Cole, president of Lyric Film Exchange, who states that in many cases the one obstacle, aside from price, facing provincial exhibitors, is the complicated apparatus. Given equipment of simple construction, one that can be operated with ease, it is easy to see that shortly 90 per cent of the houses will be wired for talking pictures, Cole says.
