Among those who have reservations are Adolph Zukor, Nicholas M. Schenck, Harley L. Clarke, Saul E. Rogers, Carl Laemmle. J. E. Otterson, E. \Y. Hammons, Jules E. Brulatour and others. Maryland MPTO Officers Slated for Re-election Baltimore — Re-election of Charles E. Nolte as president of the M. P. T. O. of Maryland is expected at the forthcoming meeting of the organization. Other officials also scheduled for re-election are Louis Carman, vice-president, and Frank Hornig, treasurer. Earle W. Jones Opening Synchronization Studio A recording studio open to producers and distributors desiring synchronization jobs will be opened Monday by Earle W. Jones, who has taken over the offices formerly occupied by Photocolor Corp. on the sixth floor, 729 Seventh Ave. Jones will convert the projection room. which is equipped with W. E. reproducer, into a public projection room. "Father's Son" Release Warner Bros, have set the general release of "Father's Son" for March 17. It was produced by First National and the cast contains Leon Janney, Micky Bennett, Robert Dandridge, Lewis Stone, Irene Rich and John Halliday. Veidt, Camilla Horn at Joinville Paris — Conrad Veidt is among the new players signed to work at the Paramount studios in Joinville. He will play the male lead with Olga Tschechowa in a German picture directed by Dimitri Buchowetzki. Camilla Horn also will appear in a German production, "Angeklagte schworen Sie!" Benno Vigny, who wrote the story from which "Morocco" was adapted, has prepared the adaptation of "Li General", French production, directed by Leo Mittler. Louis Mercanton has finished a French talker, "Marions Nous," and is now at work on a Spanish subject, "Sa Noche de Bodas." Public Hearings Begin In Canadian Gov't Probe Toronto — Public hearings of the probe into the picture industry in Canada began yesterday at City Hall with Peter White, King's Counsellor, presiding. Chief purpose of the probe is to find out if the Combines Act has been violated. Harry J. Padden Joins Livingston's Directory Harry J. Padden, formerly associated with the Amalgamated Vaudeville Agency and for years an active booking representative, has joined Livingston's International Casting Directory as special representative in the vaudeville field. Sound-on-Film Devices Predominate in Canada Ottawa — With the exception of the three Western provinces of Canada, practically all sound installations in use involve sound on film, a sui-'ey just made indicates. In the three Western sections, comprising the provinces of Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan, however, almost all devices are sound-on-disc.
