Brecher already controls a number of French and German films, including "Wien Du Stadt der Lieder," "La Nuit est a " Nous," "Le Collier de la Reine" and "The Mountain Guide of Zacopane," some of which have had successful runs at his Little Carnegie Playhouse. Protex will also distribute Fortune Gallo's grand opera film, "Pagliacci," in the New York territory. Paramount Fixes Dates For Two Sales Meetings Paramount's Eastern sales convention is definitely set for April 15, 16 and 17 at the Hotel Ambassador, Atlantic City. The Western sales meet will take place at the Palace Hotel, San Francisco, April 22, 23 and 24. Ross Accounting Service Opening Canadian Offices Expansion of the Ross Federal Accounting Service to cover key cities in Canada is planned following opening of branches in all keys in the United States. Up to the present timle 22 offices have been established in this country. The next one to be opened is in Galveston. Recent openings were at Los Angeles, San Francisco and St. Louis. Sen. "Roxy" Rothafel ends his concert tour with his "gang" on Friday, in Bethlehem, Pa., and arrives in New York on Saturday to begin organization of his staff for the administration of his "Radio City" theater. 13 ANIMAL SHORTS ADDED TO NEW COLUMBIA LINEUP A series of 13 one-reel animal comedies, directed and supervised by Bryan Foy, will be part of the coming season's program of Columbia. The trained animals will enact comic stories, with human voices providing dialogue to fit the action. World distribution of these shorts will be handled by Columbia. Bobby Jones Golf Shorts To Have Foreign Versions Vitaphone's series of 12 one-reelers by Bobby Jones on "How I Play Golf," set for release April 27, will have foreign versions for France, Germany and Spain. Kansas Circuit Defies Anti-Sunday Show Law Kansas City — Although Kansas officials have refused permission for Sunday shows, the Okay-Mason Theaters in the western part of that state intend to give performances on the Sabbath in the circuit's Hutchinson and Great Bend houses. Vitaphone Signs Langdon Harry Langdon has been signed by Vitaphone to make a series of 12 comedies at the Brooklyn studio. Bruce Gallup to Coast Bruce Gallup, director of advertising and publicity for United Artists will leave for the coast Friday to confer with Al Lichtman and Samuel Goldwyn on next season's product German Film for Cameo "Rosenmontag" ("Carnival's End"), German talker, opens Friday at the RKO Cameo.
