Schnitzer and Earle Kramer, representative of the British company, who arrived Tuesday on the Europa. Under present British laws, 75 per cent of employees on all motion picture production pay rolls must be British, which prevents an open interchange of high salaried players. According to Kramer, six product'ons will be made in England by Radio, Ltd., under the supervision of Basil Dean, for 1931-32 release. Eight branch offices are now in operation for Radio, Ltd., employing a branch manager in each and a total of 28 salesmen. Offices are located in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff, Leeds, Glasgow, Dublin and Newcastle. Para. Deal for Long Term Under its deal with Disney, first reported in The Film Daily on Tuesday, United Artists will release the "Mickey Mouse" and "Silly Symphonies" for a term of years, says U. A. in officially announcing the arlangement. Distribution will start in March, 1932. Joe Brandt, presi1 dent of Columbia, which is now releasing the Disney shorts, announced yesterday that his company still has a contract for an extended period covering the international distribution of these cartoons. New series of both subjects will be on the Columbia program next season, Brandt said. Harry Thomas Handling Indie Film in New York Negotiations have been completed between Harry Thomas of First Division Exchange and Headline Pictures whereby Thomas will handle the release of "Women Men Marry" in Greater New York and Northern New Jersey. The picture was directed by Charles Hutchison with Natalie Moorhead, Sally Blane, Kenneth Harlan and Randolph Scott in the cast. The production is being released for the state rights market. R-K-0 Books First Nat'l Into K. C. First-Runs R-K-O has booked First National product for its Kansas City first-run houses, the Main Street and Orpheum. The arrangement, which was negotiated bv Johnny O'Connor for R-K-O and A. W. Smith of WarnerF. N., starts with Richard Barthelmess in "The Finger Points" opening on April 24. Spanish Writer Joins Columbia Maria M. Garrett, Spanish translator and writer, has left for the Coast to assume a post in the foreign production department at the Columbia studios, where she will work on the preparation of Spanish versions of Columbia's current output. Pathe Advance Men Off to Chicago Jack Level and Guy Fowler of the RKO Pathe home office are being dispatched to Chicago via airplane today by A. P. Waxman, advertising counsel, to look after arrangements in connection with the company's convention at the Drake Hotel in that city, April 20-22. Kadow Incorporated Madison, Wis. — Articles of incorporation have been filed here by the Great Lakes Amusement Co., of Manitowoc. The concern will operate the Mikadow in Manitowoc, conducted for many years by John Kadow. Signers of the articles of incorporation are his son, Francis Kadow, George Erdman and Arthur Wvsemann. Clifford R. Wilson Dead Pittsburgh— Clifford R. Wilson, 71, for 54 years connected with the management of the old Bijou and Lyceum, died yesterday at his home.
