With completion of distribution arrangements ior the 1'hiladelphia territory, Monogram Pictures ha.-> closed all but two territories, said President \Y. Ray Johnston yesterday. The Philly situation will be handled by Harry Thomas and Oscar Neufeld. The two territories which have not been closed as yet are Ohio and Minnesota. Monogram Pictures will generally be sold on a straight rental basis, said Johnston. Fox Completes 26 Shorts In "Magic Carpet" Series Fox has completed the first 26 of the "Magic Carpet of Movietone" travel shorts with natural sound and musical accompaniment. Another group of 26 subjects will be ready for release within a few weeks. Truman H. Talley originated the idea for these shorts, and Louis de Rochemont is doing the editing. Six New Educational Releases Educational has set the following releases for this month: "Hold 'Er Sheriff," Mack Sennett comedy with Andy Clyde and Marjorie Beebe, June 7; "A College Racket," last of the current Vanity comedies, with Glenn Tryon, June 14; "Monkey Business in Africa," Sennett comedy with Andy Clyde and Marjorie Beebe, June 21; "Foolish Forties," last Gayety comedy of the season, with Ford Sterling, June 28; and "2000 B.C." and "Blues," TerryToons, June 14 and 28, respectively. Sanderson and Crumit Signed for 12 Shorts Julia Sanderson and Frank Crumit, musical comedy and radio stars, have signed with Artists Pictures Inc., new producing unit, to make 12 tworeelers.
