Unsurpassed French and German cooking. TED LEWIS IN SECOND WEEK CLICKS WITH CAPITOL FANS I ed Lewis and his Jubilee Jamboree are justifying a second week at the Capitol. Doing his inimitable stuff, Lewis predominates the show, which is always entertaining and transient in tempo. The audience goes for it seriously. The main set depicts a large topper, being a gigantic replica of the type which Lewis has worn these many showdom years. The band is set on its brim. Among the numbers offered by the Chester Hale Girls, a Hawaiian dance clicks the best although all are fine. Colored entertainers chip in Kvith tap and other numbers and a trio of colored maidens harmonize. Good show plus good showmanship. VALLEE AND L1BBY HOLMAN STAR ON PARAMOUNT BILL Rudy Vallee and his Connecticut Yankees continue at the Paramount this week with a new routine and a really fine impersonation of Maurice Chevalier by Rudy. Previous to the Chevalier number, Rudy croons two songs, one with and one without the megaphone. Libby Holman, co-featured with Vallee, is spotted late in the presentation but gains much applause through the singing of two numbers. Miss Hohnan has a pleasing contralto voice and plen'fy of stage presence. Her rendition of "Body and Soul" scored a hit. Throughout the stage program, Eddy Bruce, a funny fellow with a wealth of low-comedy tricks, keeps the audience in hysterics. A snappy dance routine by three colored steppers, Sonny, Teddy and Ray, colorful and well executed ensembles by The Rodion Dancers and The Evans-Bines Girls, round out this Fred Evans presentation which is titled "On Ze Boulevard." Hyman's Cameo will be the first in his string of theaters to start the club, and Saturday, June 20, is the date scheduled for the first meeting of the club. Joe Rivkin, Educational exploiteer, has developed a big campaign to put the clubs over nationally. The Hohner Company, which has had an exclusive tieup arrangement with Educational for a number of years, is cooperating on the new idea with harmonicas and other children's instruments. The toy symphony, a new idea in rhythm, which has been adopted by many schools of music and experimental schools throughout the country, has become tremendously popular, and will be one of the principal features of the club. Children with no previous musical training may join the toy symphonies. Endorsed for its inestimable value in teaching children rhythm, the club will have the support and strong backing of schools and other educational associations. A full line of accessories to be used by the exhibitor inaugurating a club at his theater, is being made up by Educational.
