T. & T. and W. E. Stern Electrical Co. from continuing an alledged monopoly on recording and reproduction equipment. The antimonopoly suit now pending against these three defendants will be tried here Nov. 3. FREULER CLOSES 18 SPOTS Eighteen key points already have been closed by Freuler Film Associates for the 24 Monarch features on the company's 1932-33 schedule, according to Charles L. Gellett, vice-president. MAKING THEATER FRONTS "Displaycraft," a new lobby and display company, has been formed by T. E. Blackmore, formerly of Paramount. The conrmany has already made fronts for the Winter Garden and Strand. YIDDISH FILM BOOKED Detroit— "Uncle Moses," Yiddish talker, released here by Monarch Pictures, has been booked for a fiveday run at the Publix Annex. "DAVID GOLDER" COMING "David Golder," French picture produced by Marcel Vandal, whose "Le Bal" opens next Tuesday at the Little Carnegie, is on the list of attractions coming to this house. It was adapted from the novel published abroad and here. SOUND TRUCK FOR W. INDIES Sales on Sound Corp. has supplied a sound ballyhoo truck to be used by the LaFollette Shows in its tour of the United Theaters, Inc., circuit in Porto Rico. After touring other islands in the West Tndies, the truck will be brought back to the States to tour through the south. CHESTERFIELD STARTS 7TH West Coast Bureau of THE FILM DAILY Hollywood — Seventh feature on the Chesterfield program of 12 for 1932-33 has gone into production. It is "Uninvited," with Richard Thorpe directing. The next production will be a story tentatively titled "Down in the Dumps." Chesterfield has just released "King Murder." NEW STEEL CURTAIN TRACK Allentown, Pa. — Automatic Devices Co. has announced its new Steelite light-duty curtain track. AMUSE. SUPPLY MOVING Amusement Supply Co., dealers in theater equipment, is moving Sent. 20 from (530 Ninth Ave. to larger quarters at 341 West 44th St. DWAN DIRECTING ABROAD Alan Dwan has signed to direct in England, according to reports from London. He is now over there. Paramount Launching Newsreel in France Paris — A special organization to produce a French newsreel is understood to have been completed by Paramount at its Joinville studios. E. B. Dascond is named as editor of the new reel and the French studio will share the service of the continent jointly with London, which until now has been headquarters for the whole of Europe. REJOIN PARAMOUNT West Coast Bureau of THE FILM DAILY Hollywood — Violet Clark Freeman, scenarist who has been abroad for four years, is back on Paramount's writing staff. Leora Jax has rejoined Paramount, after a year in New York, as secretary to Sam Hawkins, executive assistant to N. W. Finston. managing director of the music department. BAXTER IN "42ND ST." West Coast Bureau of THE FILM DAILY Hollywood — Warner Baxter is the latest name signed by Warners for "42nd Street." It is planned to make this production similar to "Gold Diggers of Broadway." Harry Warren and Al Dubin are writing the musical numbers. NEWMAN'S 24th LECTURE TOUR E. M. Newman, traveler, lecturer and star of Vitaphone shorts, will begin his 24th fall lecture season in Chicago on Oct. 12. PARAMOUNT BRITISH STORY Paramount has bought the Walter Hackett thriller, "The Barton Mystery," for production in England. MERVYN LE ROY IN HOSPITAL West Coast Bureau of THE FILM DAILY Hollywood — Mervyn Le Roy yesterday was taken to a local hospital, where he will undergo an operation for a serious throat infection. M-G-M BUYS PLAY M-G-M has acquired motion picture rights to "I've Married an Angel," comedy by Vaszary Janos which had a successful run in Budapest last season and will be produced this fall in Berlin and later in other important European cities.
