Opening More Foreign Branches (Continued from Page 1) others planned at Bilboa, Valencia and Seville. Another branch will be opened in Lisbon, Portugal. By September branches will be inaugurated in Cairo and Alexandria, Egypt. Plans in connection with this expansion have been worked out by Joe Hummell, who returned this week from abroad, following their launching last winter by Sam E. Morris, in charge of foreign distribution for the company. Operations of the new branches will be supervised by Robert Schless, managing director for France, with headquarters in Paris. JUNGLE FILM FOR MONOGRAM President W. Ray Johnston of Monogram yesterday signed contracts for distribution rights to "Taming the Jungle," produced by Paul Wyman Productions. Release date is set for June 15. Deal does not cover the New York and Brooklyn territory, in which Invincible Pictures is handling the film, or Illinois and Indiana, where Jerry Abrams has the rights. In Texas and Oklahoma, Wyman will roadshow the picture himself. BOMB ATTEMPT FAILS Denver — A bomb was thrown at the home of Fred Schmitt, Orpheum theater orchestra director, who was recently fined $500 and expelled from the musicians' union. The bomb was lighted, but was thrown into the street by Mrs. Schmitt and her sister, Mrs. Alice Wiley, before it exploded. MacLEVY REJOINS RANDFORCE Monty MacLevy has resigned as general manager in charge of the Long Island circuit of theaters for Marlew Operating Corp. and will return to his o'ri post at the Randforce Amusement Corp., Brooklyn, where he will again take over the general publicity for the circuit.
