Columbia May Open Own Branches on Continent Whether or not Columbia will establish its own exchange system in Continental Europe will be decided following a report which will be made by Hannah Kass, former foreign manager who has been placed in charge of the company's Continental activities. Miss Kass. who sails from New York July 15, will examine conditions and results under Columbia's present arrangements by which they distribute through independent exchanges on the Continent. Depinet and Jules Levy, having wound up RKO Radio New York Sales Convention, the first of three regional meetings, last evening, head the contingent of Home Office executives bound for Chicago today to attend the second confab opening Saturday at the Drake Hotel. FOR HOLLYWOOD When "Gold Diggers" completes its summer run at the New York Hollywood Theater, "Captured!", will begin a roadshow engagement there, announced Warner Bros, yesterday. "Captured!", will be released as a road show attraction following its 2-a-day Hollywood run. CENSORS OKAY "BABY FACE" "Baby Face," Warner Bros, picture, which completes a week's run at the New York Strand Theater to night, has been passed without a single change or elimination by the Maryland Board of Censors. "GIANT" HELD OVER IN CHI. Chicago— "The Little Giant" starring Edward G. Robinson, which is being held for a second week at the United Artists Theater in Chicago, is the first picture the house has had in almost six months to hold over. COLLEGE HUMOR' HOLDS OVER "College Humor," the third consecutive picture to be held over at the New York Paramount theater, starts the second week of its engagement today. JOHN GREY DIES ON COAST West Coast Bureau of THE FILM DAILY Los Angeles — John Grey, gag man for Harold Lloyd and formerly an actor, is dead at his home in West Hollywood. He was 60 years old. He is survived by two sisters who live in New York. FILM SALESMEN! P. T. O. A. as follows: Morris Zimmerman has taken over the Majestic, Rochester, formerly operated by Max Cohen. The Town Hall, Allegheny, managed by T. G. Norton, has closed. The Palace, Clifton Springs, N. Y., has been reopened by E. G. Williamson. The Meco Theaters Corp. now controls the Suburban, Binghamton. The Falls, Honeoye Falls, operated by the Falk Amusement Co., is closed for June and July. "FORGOTTEN MEN" REOPENS "Forgotten Men," World War picture being distributed by Harrj Cummins of Jewel Productions, soon reopens on Broadway at the TransLux theater for an indefinite run. The Trans-Lux changes its policy for this picture, hoping to run it all summer. BUYS "GOLD DIGGERS" N. L. Nathanson, President of Famous Players of Canada has bought "Gold Diggers of 1933" for both their Toronto and Montreal houses into which the Warner musical will open simultaneously, July 8th. WARNERS CHANGE TITLE "I Loved A Woman" is the tentative new title of Edward G. Robinson's latest picture which is now in production at Warner Bros. -First National Burbank. "CORNER" FOR CAPITOL "The Narrow Corner," Warner Bros, picture, will have its world premiere at the Capitol July 2. The picture is set for July 8 release. PARA. SIGNS WRITERS Maxwell Anderson and Frances Fuller signed new contracts with Paramount this week. BOB CLUSTER GETS TWO Johnson City, 111. — Bob Cluster has taken over two former Fox West Coast houses.
