Court Stops Picketing In an opinion stating he was convinced that violence had occurred in the picketing houses belonging to the Rosekay Amusement Co. and Bert Amusement Corp. in the Bronx and Brooklyn, Supreme Court Justice Edgar J. Lauer has issued an order temporarily restraining Local 306, operators' union, from picketing the houses. No strike had bat-n declared, the judge pointed out. Trailer Issued on RKO Short RKO has had National Screen Service get up a trailer on "La Cucaracha," the Technicolor tworeeler. This is said to be the first time a trailer was put out on a short of this length. Dallas Premiere for "Barretts" Dallas — Premiere of M-G-M's "Barretts of Wimpole Street" is set for Friday at the Palace here, according to James Owen Cherry, Interstate city manager. Seats will be reserved at $1.10 top and the event will be broadcast. Giving Free Screen Course Free courses in motion picture and radio work will be given by the New York State Department of Education, in association with the Board of Education in the City of New York, at the State Building, 80 Center St., starting Sept. 17. The courses will continue for 15 weeks. Registrations start Sept. 13 and will be held from 5 to 8 P.M. each day until attendance quotas are filled. Acting, camera work, scenario writing and other pointers will be taught. James Cruze Signed by Lasky West Coast Bureau of THE FILM DAILY Hollywood — ■ James Cruze has been signed by Jesse L. Lasky to direct "Helldorado", the next Spencer Tracey vehicle under the Fox banner. The picture marks the return of Cruze under the Lasky production banner for the first time since talkies.
