The attachment for inspection work is added by removing the belt from the motor and placing a handle on the shaft. The machine stops automatically at an open patch and at the finish. It is built either with or without a stand, and may be had without the reel cabinet, if so desired. Made entirely of aluminum, with brass fittings. Film passes between two rubber rollers, which pull the entire width of film by friction. This method of traction prevents damage to perforations which might result ii sprocKets were used. SOUND PICTURES Now that talking and sound pictures have come into their own, we cannot stress too strongly the importance of keeping the film absolutely clean. It is essential to keep all film clean; but to neglect sound films means taking the risk of clogging the aperture in the sound gate — causing harsh and irritating sounds. Thus, all the time and energy spent in producing properly modulated sound effects are wasted — all because the film is not properly taken care of. Both the time and expense involved in cleaning film is too slight to risk such a possibility, which endangers the quality of sound pictures. DWORSKY FILM MACHINE CORP. Film Center Bldg., 630 9th Ave., N. Y. C. Write for Illustrated Catalog and Prices CleanerWiper Combination No. 11 (Made entirely of Aluminum) The Cleaner and Wiper Combination, together with our Kilmex Cleaning Fluid, removes the oil which collects on the surface of the film while it is still neu: The WIPER, which can be used separately, without detachable CLEANER, merely wipes the oil from the surface of the film. The Cleaner and Wiper Combination only removes the oil from the surface, when the film is older, it must go through a liquid solu tion in order to remove the oil and dirt which has penetrated through the emulsion and it is necessary that our regular cleaning machines br used for this purpose. By these methods you also eliminate the risk of clogging the aperture in the SOUND GATF of synchronized films and thus are assured of a properly modulated sound effect, instead of that harsh and irritating noise, which is the result of neglected film. Also made for 16 mm. film. Inspection Control Rewind No. 7 for Exchanges A highly useful adjunct to the exchange or laboratory equipment. Is equipped with twowheeled brakes that are operated by a slight movement of the operator's knee. Both reels stop at precisely the same time and hold firmly in place without running over, dragging, and consequently scratching of the film. Inspectors can use free hand to detect a broken perforation while stopping the rewind with the knee, thus preventing a needless loss of time in locating the break and enabling them to give more than a casual thought to their inspection. Furnished with or without inspection table Rewind can be placed on any inspection table Made entirely of aluminum. 9J8
