Text recognition is never 100% accurate. Many parts of the scanned page may not be reflected in the OCR text output, including: images, page layout, certain fonts or handwriting.

seats operate irregularly. Five houses have from 1,000 to 1,500 seats; 25 from 750 to 1,000 seats; 138 from 500 to 750 seats; 256 with less than 500 seats. However, the higher estimate of 1,500 appears more accurate. Imports from U. S. A. — 1927 — 1,150,774 ft.; value $26,999. 1928— 988,008 ft. ; value $23,578. Exports to U. S. Newspapers report a bill is in preparation for presentation to the Rigstag to restrict importation of American films. Provisions would provide that for every 100 American films imported into Denmark Americans are to produce seven films in Denmark. Nothing official has materialized. Censorship — Law No. 101 of March 17, 1922 governs censorship of films. It calls for the appointment of a board of three members whose duty it is to view every film intended for exhibition. Films passing the board, are divided into one of three classifications, viz: (1) allowed for everybody; (2) forbidden to children under 16 and (3) forbidden entirely: In many instances, as elsewhere in Europe, censorship borders on the ludicrous and examples are numerous where extreme cutting has to be resorted to in order to satisfy Danish censors. Competition — 60% American films shown. Copyright Relations — Established by Presidential Proclamation May 8, 1893, extended April 9, 1910, and Dec. 9, 1920. Production — Three producers, ten features produced in 1927. In Denmark there is no scheduled production, and artists and technical men are usually employed at a predetermined price per picture. There is, consequently, no standard salary' scale, except for electricians, other artisans, and laborers, whose daily or weekly wage scale is governed by existing tariffs. Taxes — An amusement tax of 40% on each ticket is collected by the government. This is based 8 AmerAnglo C ORPORATION ARTHUR A.
