Text recognition is never 100% accurate. Many parts of the scanned page may not be reflected in the OCR text output, including: images, page layout, certain fonts or handwriting.

TO A DEGREE perhaps far beyond that of any of its predecessors, this, the 29th annual edition of THE FILM DAILY Year Book of Motion Pictures is at once a trade history and an industry guide book. Not even in the war years was the industry faced with the perplexities and the complexities which marked the 12 months of 1946. Their impact will be found accurately reported on the thousand-odd pages which follow, and with it, the forward course of the industry in all its facets during 1947 may be fairly charted. It follows that there has been a full revision of editorial text and that departmental additions are in full step with trade developments. To the staff and all those contributors in many lands who have joined to make the 29th edition possible go our sincere thanks. JACK ALICOATE Editor-in-Chief 3
