The events of the past year have marked the beginning of an epoch. In retrospect it is clear
the world has made many mistakes, which, if men are as reasonable as they claim to be, should not
land in many instances, will not1 be repeated. But the habit of error is strong and it is necessary
always to be on guard against it and not to repeat the errors of the past more often than one may
be forced by circumstances.
The depression has shown the limitations and many of the absurdities and inefficiencies of
errors of our past economic systems; whether cur pasr practices. Whether the new motion
they can be fully corrected is another matter; , ,, . . . .
