The only common thing for all the versions is the setting, as sometimes dif ferent artistes are employed for different versions which are generally taken one after another. The outdoors which are very often shot 'silent' are projected on the studio screen and simultaneously, music or other sound effects are recorded on the sound film. I hope you know that in the talkies, two different films are used for the picture and for the sound and subsequently both the negatives are printed together on a common positive film.
