Though photography of books on microfilm is no innovation, it has been particularly promoted in the USSR since the end of the war. Microfilm laboratories are being set up by other major libraries and microfilm reading rooms are to be opened by the decision of the Ministry of Higher Education at 21 college libraries this year. The Moscow microfilm laboratory is equipped with the latest in Soviet-made equipments.
