Animated maps and scenic views stress the geography of the land; a sequence reviewing their inventions and cultural development emphasizes Chinese history; subsequent scenes deal with the people of China, showing their means of earning a livelihood as laborers, farmers, sampan fishermen and skilled artisans; and the conclusion of the treatment reveals the modern- ization of China through education and industry.
