A young high school student, who is having difficulty understanding the textbook explanation of osmosis, discusses the problem with his policeman friend. They go to a police laboratory. There a technician demonstrates osmotic pressure and clarifies the student's questions. Illustrations of the operation of osmosis in forms familiar to the student help to create interest in and understanding of this phenomenon. THE STORY OF ALFRED NOBEL (MGM) 1 reel-B&W Passing Parade Series 10/2 minutes A portrayal of Nobel's research which led to the invention of dynamite, and the events which influenced him to establish the Nobel Prize Awards for contributions to world peace. 64
