It this is not found to be the seat of the trouble, remove cover 623, P-2 (see instruction No. 3), and carefully examine springs 717, P-9, also examine the inside edge of friction casing 624 and see if track "Y," Plate 9, is smooth, as it should be, and not scratched or rough. If it is rough or scratched, carefully polish track "Y" by using No. 00 emery cloth.
