WHERE ARE THEY NOW? Page Three MARCH, 1940 Ray Jones Awarded For Clamour Photo Hollywood’s leading glamour pho¬ tographer. That is the title recently accorded Ray Jones, Universal studio portrait photographer, by the Hollywood Still Photographers Association. At the annual photographic exhibit of these men who have made Holly¬ wood the world’s most glamourous city, Jones was voted the best glamour photographer for his camera study of Marian Martin. RAY JONES Coming to the film capital from Superior, Wis., in 1922, Jones started as half owner of the camera conces¬ sion at the old Mack Sennett studio. From photographing the once famous Sennett bathing beauties, he has ad¬ vanced in portrait photography until today he is known as Hollywood’s No. 1 man in this field. Among the celebrities he has glam¬ ourized photographically are Marlene Dietrich, Deanna Durbin, Irene Dunne, Carole Lombard, Loretta Young, Mae West, Claudette Colbert, Helen Par¬ rish, Kay Francis, Danielle Darrieux, Alice Faye, Nan Grey, Joan Blondell, Constance Bennett, Andrea Leeds, Constance Moore and Joan Bennett. Two Newcomers Join Harry Ormiston Staff Those new smiling faces in the Ex¬ ploitation department belong to Clark Ramsay and Yvonne Offeman. Miss Offeman takes over the post of secretary to Harry Ormiston, Ex¬ ploitation chief. Ramsay fills the vacancy made when George Scher left the studio to become assistant in the Mitchell Hamilburg Agency. Mayers Celebrate Julius Mayer, through the NEWS, wishes to express to Universal friends the thanks of himself and Mrs. Mayer for many good wishes and gifts ten¬ dered them upon the occasion of their 40th wedding anniversary, celebrated recently. Bobby Bratton bought a new house on Moorpark Ave., just across the street from his mother-in-law . . .
